Welcome

Watercolours by Justin P. Williams

Born in London (1967), graduated in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, England 1989. After graduating he travelled widely to places such as The United States, Mexico and Turkey and spent an extended period of time in Edinburgh, Scotland where he worked mainly with screen-printing. He has been resident in Madrid since 1996.

In recent years he has complemented his work in oils with those in watercolour, a technique that gives rise to subtle and luminous pieces. His enthusiasm for the mountain and regular visits to the sierra, provide abundant material for his landscape painting. In his recent work we see new representations of snow covered peaks and mountainous panoramas. Also present in his work is his family’s nautical tradition (his grandfather and great grandfather were nautical pilots). These pieces often painted on the mountainside, on the quay or later from watercolour sketches made in these places, reflect great freshness and spontaneity.
